Construction of a new and larger long term care home to replace an older facility in Quinte West remains in the planning process.
A company known as The Greenlife Retirement Residence Trenton has detailed plans in place to build a four-storey, 108-bed long-term care home and retirement residence at 114 White’s Road, the site of the current 33-bed Carrington Retirement Residence.
The new home would be built in phases allowing existing residents to easily move from the old building to the new.
A site plan agreement is in place but a formal agreement for an on-site sewage treatment plant with the city still has to be signed. Quinte West’s Public Works Committee is recommending council approve the agreement to allow the project to go ahead.
